IN 3/4
A: Intro, 5X through, go to B when the vocals come in
Start on the off-beat of the first count (drums and bass intro):
G---------------------------------------------------------/9---9-9-9--7------------|
D----5-7-5--5-7-5--5-7-5--5-7-5--5-7-5--5-7-5----------------------------9-7-5\----|
A---7-------7-------7-------7-------7-------7--------------------------------------|
E---------------------------------------------0----0-------------------------------|
It’s arguable whether the main rhythm (the 3 repeating notes) is hammer-ons and
or all plucked notes, I think either way works.

B: Verse, 7X through, go to C on “now tell me that you like what you just heard”
G-------------------------------------|
D-------------------------------------|
A-------------------------------------|
E--0--0-------3--3-------5------------|
Very simple chord progression.

C: Chorus, 7X through
G----------------------------9-7-------------------|
D-------------------------------- 9-8-7-5----------|
A-----------------------------------------7-5\-----|
E--0--0-------3--3-----5---------------------------|

On the last time of the chorus play this:
G-------------------------9--7--------|
D--------------------------------9----|
A-------------------------------------|
E---0--0------3--3--------------------|

Now back to the intro, 2X through

Then for the little harmonica ditty and the next verse, play B again, I think it’s 12X
give or take 1.

Then it’s back to the chorus, 7X through.

D: Bridge, 14X through, very simple and easy.
G----------------|
D----------------|
A--7---5---------|
E-----------7----|
HERE IT SWITCHES FROM 3/4 TO 4/4-
E: Bridge #2, 7X through. Yet another truly challenging bass line :p
G--------------------------------------|
D--------------------------------------|
A---------7-------------5--7--5--7-----|
E--7--7---------7--7-------------------|
SWITCHES BACK TO 3/4
Now back to D, this is kind of an intro to the guitar solo, 7 or 8X through
SWITCHES BACK TO 4/4
When the guitar solo comes in, play E again. Don’t get distracted by the solo. 7X
then it gets fun again.
BACK TO 3/4
The A intro again, it is a bit of a quick transition from the solo to the intro riff so
miss it. There is also a tempo change which you, in the band, will be the driving force
so make sure you have the difference in times down as well. 2X through, then onto the
solo.

F: Harmonica Solo Background Riff
Bobby Sheehan played around a lot with this riff, so there are plenty of variations in
Have fun with it; feel free to mix it up a bit, you know. 16X through.
G-------------------------------------|
D-------------------------------------|
A-------------------------7-5---------|
E---0--0-----3------/5--------3-5-----|
NOTE: There is no break in the repeating of this riff, so the last note you play goes
into the first note of the repeated riff.

Back to the B verse riff now…I’m sure you’re bored of it by now. Anyways, play it 8X
and then to the chorus.

Chorus #2, play riff C again 8 times through, remember to do the little different rhythm
on the last time.

And whaddya know! You’re done. There’s a little acoustic section at the end, which the
doesn’t play on. This is a great song by Blues Traveler, one of their best for sure. I
just get the rhythms from listening to the song since I can’t really accurately portray them here.
Learn it and love it.
