Mandolin Rain Chords

(ver. 1)
Bruce Hornsby
While looking on the internet, I found that there was a major shortage
of Bruce Hornsby stuff. This might have been because I was looking on
guitar tab pages, while Bruce Hornsby and the range is a piano band. I
originally figured this out on piano, but it doesn't sound too bad on
guitar. Enjoy. ~e~

    G D
The song came and went
          Am C
Like the times that we spent
        G D G
Hiding out from the rain under the carnival tent
   G D
I laughed and she smiled
         Am C
It would last for awhile
          G D G
You don't know what you got till you lose it all again

              G
Listen to the mandolin rain
              D G
Listen to the music on the lake
             Am G D G
Listen to my heart break every time she runs away
              G
Listen to the banjo wind
      D G
A sad song drifting low
              Am G D G
Listen to the tears roll down my face as she turns to go

A cool evening dance
Listening to the bluegrass band takes the chill
I'll do my time
Keeping you off my mind
But there's moments that I find, I'm not feeling too strong

REPEAT CHORUS

F C
Running on down by the lakeshore
        D Am C
She did love the sound of a summer storm
F C
Playin on the lake like a mandolin
         Am C D
Now it's washing her away once again

REPEAT CHORUS

The boat's steaming in
I watch the sidewheel spin and
I think about her when I hear the whistle blow
I can't change my mind
I knew all the time that she'd go
But that's a choice I made long ago

REPEAT CHORUS
