Sure As Hell Not Jesus Ukulele

(ver. 1)
Cosmo Jarvis
Cosmo Jarvis - Sure As Hell Not Jesus
------------------------------
Key of B with Capo 2, ear-transcribed on ukulele by Neil Killer.
------------------------------
A lot of the guitar chords in this song are hard to decipher; I always found
something to tweak in these chords after I took a break and came back. The
chord after Bm in the chorus is hard to hear, but it sounds like either an E
or an A. I went with E because it fits better with the A at the end of the
chorus and also follows the pattern of the solo towards the end. The bridge has
sort of a partial key change, and it's *very* difficult to hear the chords
clearly, but the progression I came up with sounds pretty much perfect when I
play it together with the song.
------------------------------
If you're not using a capo, hit the "Up 2 Half Steps" button. I like playing
it in the key of C (hit "Up 3 Half Steps") since it sounds best like that on
my ukulele.

[Capo 2]

VERSE 1:
  D
Here I sit
                                   Bm
If I didn't need nobody, I'd thank God for it
           E A (G# A)
There'd be nothing that'd stop me getting on with it
                  D
It'd be me and my brain
       Bm E
And my pain, and my shame
  D
I guess I do
                                      Bm
This carpark's only got one space and it's for you
  E A (G# A)
Alone can show an ugly face, so pull me through
                        D
To where I won't need a light
          Bm
To see at night
              E (D)
Cos I'll be alright

CHORUS:
       E Bm E
You're sure as hell not Jesus, but you're saving me
      Bm E Bm E
Thank you very much for putting faith in me
      Bm E Bm E
Reminding me a light was once so great to be
        Bm E A (Amaj7)
I'm glad I made a friend that doesn't pray for me

VERSE 2:
D
Here I wait
                                   Bm
For something bad and saddening to draw my way
  E A (G# A)
I fight to give it everything and lose I may
                            D
But I still got you somewhere
            Bm
It's just upstairs
        E
Maybe I care
D
Guess I am
                                 Bm
No big and strong Goliath, I'm a wandering man
    E A (G# A)
And sometimes I get tired and I'm glad a hand
                          D
Comes and slaps me and then
         Bm
It goes again
                  E (D)
I guess you're my friend

CHORUS:

BRIDGE:
   Bm
So thanks, my little angel, (thank you too!)
    D
For watching over me
    G D Em Bm
She says she's gonna break my nose
     A
If I don't behave next week

Saving me, saving me, saviiiing meeeeee!
