Dont Tell Anyone Chords

(ver. 2)
Jonas Brothers
DON'T TELL ANYONE
As recorded by the Jonas Brothers
(From the 2007 "Bonus Jonas" Album)

Words and Music by: Jonas Brothers

The following are the chords you need to know in order to play this song. To make things
there are two guitars in this song, so that's why there are two different versions of
same chord! (I personally like to play this song using the bar chords, but then again
chords sound really pretty too!) The "open" chords are the first listed, and the
chords are the second listed in this list of chords:

This song starts off with an electric guitar playing power chords - the guitars has
distortion, and also has the "delay" effect (which you can use if you have a sound board or
guitar effects pedal).
*Note: If you have the "delay" effect, then just play each power chord below once. If
don't, then play the chords as listed below, & with those rhythms. (Or you could just
out the rhythm by listening to the song yourself!)

----------------------------------------------|

-------------5--5--5-5-------------7--7--7-7--|
--7--7--7-7--5--5--5-5--9--9--9-9--7--7--7-7--|

After the electric has played that riff once, the acoustic comes in, while the electric
to play the same riff... (You can listen to the song to figure out the rhythm youself -
too intricate to transcribe into a guitar tab!) Anywho... The chords are:

Am, C, Bm, D

The acoustic guitar plays that riff once, and then this is where Nick starts singing!

Am C Bm D Am
I wrote this lyric for you, all by myself
           C Bm D Am
What makes you think I need you, or anybody else?
          C Bm D Am
But when you see me walking, just staring at my feet,
            C Bm D Am
Cause I'm not all about you, I'm already complete.

Things get heavier at this part - the acoustic gets softer in volume, as the electric
drums) get louder:

        Am
I hope this doesn't make you cry,
          C
But I don't wanna make you mine,
        Bm
I told you for the millionth time,
           D
That I don't need you in my life.

Here, the electric stops playing that first riff (the first one that I explained) &
to playing the "bar" chord version of the next chords (the "open" version of the chords are
stronger in the chorus):

D C
But you can see through me (yeah)
D C
And how you get to me,
          G D
You know I'm just a fraud,
                Am C
I'm just afraid I feel the same,
                     Am
	But don't tell anyone
                 Bm
	Don't tell anyone

The electric guitar goes back to this riff after the first chorus comes to an end
with added distortion, and the "delay" effect):

----------------------------------------------|
----------------------------------------------|
-------------5--5--5-5-------------7--7--7-7--|
--7--7--7-7--5--5--5-5--9--9--9-9--7--7--7-7--|
--7--7--7-7--3--3--3-3--9--9--9-9--5--5--5-5--|
--5--5--5-5-------------7--7--7-7-------------|

This time the verse comes, it's a little different, because once the acoustic starts
(after the electric has played that riff through once) Nick comes right in & starts
Basically, the acoustic doesn't play its riff through once, unlike when it did just
the first verse.

Am C Bm D Am
I wake up thinking of you, and that weirds me out.
        C Bm D Am
I try hard not to call you, but I can't do without.
      C Bm D Am
Hearing your voice tell me, that I am on your mind,
         C Bm D Am
It wouldn't work to rush this, I'll come around in time.

Once again, things get heavier at this part - the acoustic gets softer, as the electric
drums) get louder:

        Am
I hope that you can understand,
          C
But now I don't know where I stand,
          Bm
I'd rather hide behind these walls,
         D
Pretending I don't care at all

And again, the electric stops playing the first riff & switches to playing the "bar"
version of the next chords (the "open" version of the chords are also a little stronger here):

D C
But you can see through me (yeah)
D C
And how you get to me,
          G D
You know I'm just a fraud,
                Am C
I'm just afraid I feel the same,
                     Am
	But don't tell anyone
                 Bm
	Don't tell anyone

Now, this is where it gets to be quite difficult (well, for the guitar soloist, anyway).
wasn't sure if I should put the solo in at first, but I changed my mind, since I really
to know how it went myself! (This took me a long time to figure out so you should be
thankful for it!)

----Play-from:-"Life-keeps"-to-"Can't-we-stop"-----|

Here are the chords that the rhythm guitar(s) continue to play, throughout the solo:

C D
	Life keeps going on,
                                Em
	The world keeps spinning 'round
                    D
Can't we stop going in circles?
C D
Am I afraid of what they'll say?
                          Bm Bm
What you confuse to see - you and me

--------10--------------12~--|
--11b12----11b12b11-10-------|
-----------------------------|
-----------------------------|
-----------------------------|
----Play-at:-"You and me"----|

After a short pause, the electric guitar plays this riff with distortion and the "delay"
one last time:

----------------------------------------------|
----------------------------------------------|
-------------5--5--5-5-------------7--7--7-7--|
--7--7--7-7--5--5--5-5--9--9--9-9--7--7--7-7--|
--7--7--7-7--3--3--3-3--9--9--9-9--5--5--5-5--|
--5--5--5-5-------------7--7--7-7-------------|

And instead of the acoustic playing the riff through like usual, it doesn't play at all,
the song goes straight to the chorus right away.

D C
But you can see through me (yeah)
D C
And how you get to me,
          G D
You know I'm just a fraud,
                Am C
I'm just afraid I feel the same,
                     Am
	But don't tell anyone
                 Bm
	Don't tell anyone

The chorus repeats once more, and the lead guitar does another (small) solo.

--10~~------12~~------14~~------15~~--|
--------------------------------------|
--"But"--------------"And"------------|
---------"Through"--------------"To"--|
--------------------------------------|
--------------------------------------|

D C
But you can see through me (yeah)
D C
And how you get to me,
          G D
You know I'm just a fraud,
                Am C
I'm just afraid I feel the same,
                     Am
	But don't tell anyone
                 Am
	Don't tell anyone

And that's the end of the song! YAY!! Be careful of the last note, however - it's an A
not a B minor like you might have thought it was! (Also, be sure to end the song with one
ringing note.) I hope you enjoyed & appreciated this guitar tab - it took a lot of work
create it! There will definitely be a lot more to come soon! God Bless!!!! <3
