Calling To You Tabs

(ver. 2)
Plant Robert
Here is my second (and probably last) post from Plant's
'Fate of Nations' album. (Gotta love the cover of that
one). This is the only song that really got a lot of
airtime on the radio, so you might even recognize some
of it. Let me know what you think.

Disclaimer<<<
I don't play violin, so some fairly important parts are
missing. I would try to tab it from violin to guitar, but
I have no idea how to get a sound out of my Strat that
sounds anything like a violin. Thus, I simply left the
violin parts out. (Hey, we play guitar here anyway, so
who cares. I think it still sounds okay.)

Robert Plant - 'Calling to You'

This is as close as I can get to the intro.
If anyone knows an accurate version, please post it.

Played with Intro rhythm 1 second time (minus last two chords)
E-|--0-------------------------------------------------------------|
B-|----(0)---------------------------------------------------------|
G-|-----4b5rb4b5rb4b5rb4---2---------------------------------------|
D-|---------------------------2vvvvvvvvvvvvvvv---------------------|
A-|----------------------------------------------------------------|
E-|-----------------------------------------------0hhhhhhhhh-------|

Intro rhythm 2
E-|---------------------------------------------------|
B-|--9--9--9s10s9--7--9----9-9--9--9--9s10s9--7--9----|
G-|--9--9--9s10s9--7--9----9-9--9--9--9s10s9--7--9----|
D-|--9--9--9s10s9--7--9----9-9--9--9--9s10s9--7--9----|
A-|---------------------------------------------------|
E-|---------------------------------------------------|

Played with Intro rhythm 2 (first and only time)
E-|--0--------------------------------------|
B-|----(0)----------------------------------|
G-|-----4b5rb4b5rb4b5rb4----4b5rb4--2--4----|
D-|-----------------------------------------|
A-|-----------------------------------------|
E-|-----------------------------------------|

Then crash down into the riff that you here over and over again...

E-|------------------------------|
B-|------------------------------| Repeat this as needed
G-|--1----1----1s2s1----0---1----| throughout the song, usually
D-|--2----2----2s2s2----0---2----| adding two quick E's as a pickup
A-|--2----2----2s3s2----0---2----| note when this phrase is repeated.
E-|------------------------------|

If you have more than one person playing, there is also
a guitar playing repeated eighth notes on the low E string
during this part, as well as some subtle strumming on bar
chords (E,F,D) hidden under this part.

That riff often leads into this part, also the chorus (here I have
arranged a part played by several guitars into a single approximation)

E-|-------------------|
B-|------2---------2--|
G-|--2-2-2---2--2--2--| Repeated several times
D-|--2-2-2---2--2--2--| (4 times in the first case)
A-|--0-0-0---0--0--0--|
E-|-------------------|

The guitar previously playing the low E switches to an A
in that part as well.

Verse - repeat as needed

Played very chunky, with a clean accoustic strumming
E chords softly below it
E-|--------------------------|
B-|---------------------8vv--|
G-|--------------2------7vv--|
D-|--------------2------5vv--|
A-|--------------0-----------|
E-|--0----0--3b4-----0-------|

Played over the above at end of verse
E-|-----------------------------------------------------|
B-|-----------------------------------------------------|
G-|--7--7--7-9-7-6-7----7--6-7-9----7-6b7rb6b7rb6ss4-2--|
D-|-----------------------------------------------------|
A-|-----------------------------------------------------|
E-|-----------------------------------------------------|

(As I said before: sorry, no violin parts)

Mini Solo (played over eighth notes on the low E)

That should be all of the guitar parts, just piece them together.
The best way to do it: Listen to the recording.

Questions, comments, additions, and corrections are welcome.
Have fun...
