Tiny Children Chords

(ver. 1)
Teardrop Explodes
This has always been one of my favourite Julian Cope songs; simple
and yet affecting. Originally done on some kind of synthesiser(s)
I guess, but nice to play on a guitar.

Key of C (mainly, but with Eb thrown in to keep it interesting.)

Intro

C Dm (x4)

Verse 1
(Each line of the verse follow this progression. Listen for timing.)
C Dm Em Dm
Half the time as I sit in disarray
I am thinking of a dream I never had
Then I awake, and for a while
I call your name in Colin’s house
But tiny children have a way of falling down

Interlude 1
Eb Dm
Oh, I could make a meal
Eb Dm
Of that wonderful despair I feel
Eb Dm G
But waking up I turn and face the wall

Verse 2
(Each line of the verse follow this progression. Listen for timing.)
C Dm Em Dm
The car arrives and takes me back again
Drifting through imaginary planes
And fighting men aboard a raft
A sailing ship has run aground
And confidence is valued in these days

Interlude 2
Eb Dm
But each character
Eb Dm
Is plundering my home
Eb Dm G
And taking everything that is my own

Interlude 3
(Repeat this next section twice)
Dm C
Oh no, I’m not sure about
Dm C
Those things that I care about
Dm C G
Oh no, I’m not sure, not any more...

(Repeat the verse progression to fade….)
C Dm Em Dm
