C
I think I tried to wake up too fast
                           Am
       F G C
Then I hit my head and it was back to bed for a while

I woke up twenty-four in Texas
            Am
Breaking a sweat to expand my Nexus
          F G
When it occurred to me, maybe I shouldn't be
         C
Making excuses to cope so liberally

They say some things just don't wash out
                             Am
But I've been dying to know what getting clean is all about
          F
And now years have gone by
          G
But it's still stuck in my mind
C
Some things just don't wash out
C
For too long now I've sung the same sad song
        Am
But I didn't even write it; I was just singing along
          F G
But the problem with change is it's hard
                        C
Like finding lively conversation in graveyards

I hit the nail on the head, drove it straight through my hand
         Am
I have martyred myself in a scheme not so grand
        F G
More deserving of men left to rot in a rag
              C
Haven't done sh*t with my life and my skin is starting to sag
F
You drink too much, your mind's unfit
      G
You really can't afford to live like this
             F
You're only almost there, but still so far
G
Everyone? Everyone!
C
They say some things just don't wash out
                        Am
But I've been dying to know what getting clean is all about
          F
And now years have gone by
               G
But it's still stuck in my mind
C
Some things just don't wash out
                        C#2
Weak sister, close your eyes
C#3 D#4
Lay your burdens down and fall asleep
              C#5 C C#2
Life starts again tomorrow
C C#2 C#3
You need this, you want that
                    D#4
You're better off alone
             C#5 G
You need this, you want that
C#2 C
You've gotta dig
        C#2 C#3
You've got to dig
             D#4
You've gotta dig
               C#5 C#2
You've got to dig
C
They say some things just don't wash out
                        Am
But I've been dying to know what getting clean is all about
          F
And now years have gone by
               G
But it's still stuck in my mind
C
Some things just don't wash out
Am
Some things just don't wash out
     F
Now years have gone by
              G
But it's still stuck in my mind
C
Some things just don't wash out

All but the bridge is pretty easy, if you watch the video it will make the bridge seem
less confusing. If you have questions, noticed mistakes, or know the name of those chords
