PATIENT
-------

By Peter Hammill, from his album "Patience", with the K group.
The TAB transcriptions were created using my program for composing TAB files,
TAB MASTER (I know it's a stupid name but I'm Israeli and that's the way we
do things).
I'm afraid there are no 'actual' chords on most of this song, but rather
some right hand finger work, which is very easy (Hey! He does that on stage,
you know... ;-) )
I think it is very accurate, as long as you consider that he plays it
differently on every live performance, and believe me I've been listening
to about 7 or more performances of the song when transcribing it.
This sign, on the 'doctor' section: "-----l(5)---" means left-hand muting:
this sound should be played as the left hand doesn't fully hold the string
down to the neck, so the sound is short and percussive. Exact timing is
described by the numbers above the TAB. Note that there are two rhythm
meters - 6/8 on the verse, and 4/4 on the "doctor" section.

Enjoy! Your comments are welcome.

<----- section 3 - Verse -----> The same as section 2

Fatal convalescence, the wound
becomes a weal:
the poison is in essence just
the virus of the real.
But there's sympathetic healing,
the power of the soul, bandages,
concealing all that we can't control, all that we can't control.

<----- section 5 - verse -----> The same as section 2

A system in the making,
self healing for the blind,
sitting in the waiting-room
of the patient mind....
But there isn't any answer
the consciousness can't quote
when the loaded dice of chance
are there rattling in the throat.

<----- section 6 - second doctor's call -----> Similar to section 4. It ends
with a short series of Gm7-Am-Gm6-Am etc.

<----- section 7 - last verse -----> The same as section 2

You put your faith in others -
the fear could not be worse...
But nature's not your mother now,
...just your suckling nurse
And there isn't any doctor,
there isn't any cure -
That might come as a shock to you,
but can you really be so sure?
Can you really be so sure?

<----- section 8 - guitar/vox fade ----->
